Dell VSM 4.0.2.1 SAN Replication Randomly Locks up.

We are running Vsphere client 5.5.0 build 1474107 and Vsphere VCenter Server 5.5.0 build 1476327 on 3 hosts (two R720's and one T710)  We are using a PS6100 EQL SAN at our main branch and a PS4100 at our DR site.

In the past 6 months or so we have been having issues with the VSM locking up on random volumes during random executions.  Sometimes it will be stuck on creating vm snapshot, creating volume replica, or removing vm snapshot.  Again, it is random as to when it happens and what process.  It will run fine for 2 weeks and then lock up twice in 3 days.

We are currently running VSM 4.0.2.1

We are also using Riverbed steelehead applicances for compression.

We are running a 45mbps (DS3) between main and dr sites.

This setup has been in place for about 2 years and everything was working fine until about 8 months ago.

We made sure that all vm's had the latest VMware tools and that there were no vm's that needed snapshots consolidated.

Anyone have any thoughts as to what could be the problem?  I worked with Dell support about 5 months ago and never got anywhere as to what was causing the problem.
