We currently have a EQL group comprising of a PS4000 and a PS4100.
I've been asked to replace the PS4100 with a new PS4100X and wanted to check my plan is ok. As I understand it you can only have 2 PS4000 series arrays in a group?
1. Setup new PS4100x with RAID 10, in new group and a storage pool called RAID10
2. Use VMWare storage vMotion to migrate LUNs over from current EQL group to new EQL group. The "old" EQL group should now hold no data
3. Factory reset the PS4000, configure raid 50 and add it to the new group in a different storage pool called RAID 50.
4. Factory reset and remove from rack the PS4100
Can anyone see any problems with the above or think of a better way of doing this?
