Hi all,
Anyone know if it's possible to change the alert thresholds for temperature readings?
Hi all,
Anyone know if it's possible to change the alert thresholds for temperature readings?
We are looking to replace our existing drives with larger drives. We are not sure of the max size we can place in the 16 bay enclosure. Also, what is the best way to replace all the drives and keep the current configuration and data?
Hi,
I was wondering if there is an HIT Kit for Windows Server 2016 Core? I noticed that version 4.9.0 does not include Windows 2016.
Thanks!
We have our equallogic and compelent's all tied into the Dell Storage Manager for monitoring. I added the Dell Storage vRealize Ops management pack, and set up the info for it to log into the Storage manager. However we are only seeing the Compellent storage in vrealize. Weill this not import the info for the equallogic groups as well?
Hello
i want to clone a volume for a backup , when i do clone like a 2TB volume it is done in like seconds? is this a real clone or a clone built on a snapshot ? or there are something going on in the background?
Hello,
I think our local reseller might be trying to pull a fast one on us, and I just want to verify something with the community before I open up a can of <profane>. We have an Equallogic PS4100XV, a few years old I agree, but it is working just fine, and we are quite happy with it. When we bought it we only filled up 6 of the 12 drive bays. Now we are running out of space so we went to our local Dell reseller to buy six more 600GB 15K SAS 3.5" drives. They told us that it is absolutely impossible to buy more disks for this machine, they refuse to sell us any and our existing support agreement with Dell would be null and void if we put drives in there from another source. They say we have no option other than to buy a brand new SAN from them. Is this even remotely correct? I believe I can just by pretty much buy any 15K SAS 3.5"drives, throw them in and all would work just fine, or am I missing something?
Thank you.
I configured then installed MEM 1.4 on ESXi 6.5 fine (using hardware offload on nics). After using the setup.pl script I noticed iSCSI was not enabled on ESXi and MTU, delayed ack, login timeout were still at default values. I've adjusted this all manually however am wondering if there is anything else I should be aware of post-install on ESXi 6.5? Are there available instructions for ESXi 6.5? I understand it's officially supported but the MEM 1.4 documentation makes no reference to it.
Thanks!

Hi,
We have an old unsupported EqualLogic SAN for some testing.
Got some problems with it, and thought you may help us.
The SAN is down, but answers on telnet/ssh.
Can login as root, but with grpadmin it just hangs..
When running "eqllogger -r" we got alot of errors complain about:
dbd_to_ipc_status - out of disk space
And also
auto_config: dbCb - dbCb state 2 rowCount 0 response DBD_IPC_STATUS_OUT_OF_DISK_SPACE(3) tableType:null(0)
auto_config: registerDbNotification - Registered
auto_config: registerDbNotification - Failed database registration attempt...retrying
auto_config: registerDbNotification - Registered
auto_config: registerDbNotification - Failed database registration attempt...retrying
Looks like it is out of diskspace to build its database.
But where are the database located? Are the out of pool diskspace, and how can I then free some up?
Or are my only option to "nuke" the data, and start over?
As said, it is just a testing san, but we have some data that I hope still are accessible.

I see the controllers from both the 2U and the 4U PS6210 are listed as Model 70-0425(TYPE 15).
Are they interchangeable? Can I pull one out of a 2U and put it in a 4U?
We have the network infrastructure to implement VMware Metro/Stretch clustering between two sites and trying to gather information on how to do this with the storage we currently have. We were lead to believe that this was only possible with VSAN, but information that states otherwise.
Has anyone implemented this with their equallogics?
Hi,
I am trying to configure SNMP monitoring for a PS6610es EqualLogic storage array.
-I go to group configuration, SNMP, and add the read only community string, as well as, the monitoring server IP under trap destinations with the same community string under access.
-I am able to ping my Equallogic from my monitoring server with no problem.
-I am able to successfully complete a nc -zuvv to port 161 from monitoring server to equallogic ip.
-I am able to successfully complete a SNMP walk with v2 ROcommunitry string from monitoring server from linux command line (snmpwalk -v2c -On -c <ROcommunity> <management IP>)
***I use the management IP address for all three tests above.
However, when I go to add the test via the application GUI, I keep getting an error SNMP agent no running on remote host, or incorrect community string. If I look in the audit log on the EqualLogic I see an entry for "SNMP packet validation failed, request received from <ip address of monitoring server>
The monitoring application is called Traverse.
I feel everything is in place for this to work, yet it is not. Do you have any recommendations on this setup? Or a way to get more details out of my error message? Please help :(
Sincerely,
Nick
We have a PS4100E which is no longer accepting connections to the web interface, nor to remote SSH or telnet. The only way I can access it is via terminal cable to the CLI.
How can I get the web interface back up and running? I've already tried
grpparams webaccess enable
but this makes no difference. I don't have the luxury of being able to do a full restart of the unit at the moment. Is there a way to get it back up and running?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
We just bought a EqualLogic M4110X that seems to be having some network issues after we did a firmware upgrade on the switches. I’m not very familiar with switch configuration of ISCSI as my Company inherited the hardware as part of a hosting agreement. The firmware update of the switches was required to disable DCB error messages on the EqualLogic does the below error messages ring any bells to anyone? (it repeats the lines below forever)

There is also a huge amount of error messages on the EqualLogic about lost ISCSI Connections. The all say something like the this, but relates to different servers and volumes.

How do I recover my forgotten EqualLogic PS Series login password?
I am continually getting a message saying "Group Manager requires Java SE 6 Update 31 or later" when I try to open up Group Manager. I am on Java 8 Update 131 so why do I keep getting this and how can I get past it?
Thanks,
Dave
I would like to add 3 additional drives to my desktop. I have 3 ATA ports available. My question is given I have enough power from my PSU, after I plug them in what do I use to configure them. I would like Raid 0 stripped. Does the disk management do this are do i have to another program.
I just upgraded my firmware in stages from 7 to 9.1.1. From 9.0.5 to 9.1.1, DSUM seems to not like my equallogic. When I log in with DSUM, it now reports that "Dell Storage Update Manager is not supported on groups running PS firmware earlier than V5.0.0" My control module 0 & 1 reports using firmware 9.1.1, and I've rebooted twice. Is it picking up the Channel Card 0 & 1 firmware version? (V3.7?)
